Hoops Mechanic Point Guard Clinic

Hoops Mechanic 2017 Point Guard Clinic

Hoops Mechanic proudly presents Part II of the off season positional improvement series!  This clinic focuses on the Point Guard position and what it takes to be an effective one.  There are so many point guards playing the game today that really don't understand their role, nor do they know how to truly be effective while handling the ball.  If you play point guard or know someone that does, this 2 session, 8 hour camp is a definite must for anyone who wants to become better at the position that can be the hardest one to play. So, what should you be focused on when running an offense? How do you create quick scoring opportunities for your team? How do you read a pick and roll situation correctly depending on the situation? All of the questions and more will be thoroughly covered and drilled in this comprehensive clinic for up and coming point guards.

The camp will be broken into three sections:

1. What is a Point Guard? (Role and Function) 2. Being a PG on Offense 3. Being a PG on Defense

Improve Your Passing Skills!

We believe it's very important that a PG learns his or her role on both sides of the ball as well as the impact their position has on the flow of the game. As usual, we will have a heavy focus on the mental toughness aspect of the PG position which includes leadership, communication, and basketball IQ. So anyone who signs up needs to come willing to learn, ready to work, and with the expectations to grow.

What will be covered at the clinic?

I. Who is a Point Guard?

II. Being a Point Guard on Offense

III. Being a Point Guard on Defense

Build Confidence as Primary Ball Handler!!

As you can see, there is a lot packed into this clinic but it's concentrated enough for players to actually grow, learn, and improve a great deal in a short amount of time.  The Clinic is offered at $125 for the entire 8 hours.   Both sessions will be held at Hoops Mechanic Training Facility in Murfreesboro, TN.   Monday 7/9 & Tuesday 7/10 from 8 am to 12 pm.
